We'll keep this simple
The CrossPromo Club - crosspromo.club (this website) - is a membership application that allows writers, publishers, content creators, and anyone who distributes written content to readers via email, to cross-promote each other.
Cross-promotion means including a link to another writer in your own work that is distributed to your readers via email.
Email address: Your account is tied to your email address - it is used for logging in and to receive communication from us. This is the only identifiable information we must hold about you. Should you choose to leave our platform, your email address is immediately cleared from our system. Caveat - any user who is found to have used our platform in an abusive way will, following a ban, have their email address stored by us, possibly in perpetuity, to prevent it being used to create a new account.
Your display name: Strictly speaking, you do not have to use your real name as your display name, although it is advisable that you do - people prefer partnering with real people. In any case, should you choose to leave our platform, your display name will be cleared from our system.
Messages you send to other users and to us: All messages are stored for an arbitrary period, to be determined by us, in accordance with our obligation to monitor the safe and non-abusive use of our platform. Should you choose to leave our platform, those messages will cease to be visible to other users, and will only be accessible by admins. Any personal information and/or identifiable information you include in messages will also be stored.
Information shared with other users: Only the messages you send to them, and the terms of a cross-promotion, will be shared with other users. Your email address is kept private unless you specifically give it to another user in a message.
Information shared with third parties: We do not share personal or identifiable information with third parties as part of any core function. We may use third parties in our security arrangements, and this may, at times, include IP addresses and/or device characteristics. This will always be in accordance with our efforts to follow best practice security policies and defences.
Information shared with law enforcement and/or by legal order: We will always make a good faith effort to comply with reasonable requests for information by law enforcement. If we are ordered to share information by a legal authority to which we are subject, we will do so wherever we are able.
Your right to request the information we hold on you: You have a right to know what information organisations hold about you, and you can request it by contacting us (although, you could just log in to your account and see it there). Requests for information may not be fulfilled, in part or in whole, if there is a legal justification for us to withhold information.
Your right to be forgotten: You have a right to request that organisations delete any information they hold on you, and you can make a request by contacting us. Such requests do not compel us to delete information where we have an obligation or legitimate interest to store it.
